“…After debating the pros and cons, Randy and I decided there were some nice things about snoozing with our terrier Libby.

First, she was portable. I knew people who slept with full grown German shepherds or dalmatians, which would have been too much animal flesh beside me in bed. But Libby was the size of a cat and fit without a problem. Randy would argue that sometimes she’d snuggled so close he’d wake up two inches from the edge of our mattress, but I digress.

There was even something endearing about the way she’d pick out one of her plush toys each night to sleep with.

“That’s got to rate at 10 in the adorable department,” I’d say to Randy as we watched Libby snuggle into her new yellow squirrel or purple frog for the night.

“Except tomorrow, she’ll try to disembowel it.”

“Hey, no relationship’s perfect.”

Still, as we discovered, sleeping with Libby had one major problem…”

When I was a kid, I had a cat who slept with me. I still miss the feeling of the cat jumping up on the bed at night. I don’t miss the sneezes in the morning, though!

Joy, Ha ha! Yes, those sneezes can be distracting. Love the feel of a kitty sleeping close, so sweet.
