The Best of the Boomer Blogs are back and this time they have lots of practical tips — how to cope when things get tough, eat healthier, start a blog, learn what means the most to us…not to mention talk of politics in a New Jersey town, and a sad story about a friend…

The sleepy part of New Jersey where Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting lives made national news this week, whether in a good or bad way depends on one’s politics. The incident brought to mind the state’s infamous political history, and Baer’s post this week discusses this heritage. Spoiler alert: the current President’s name is NOT mentioned and is NOT the focus of this post.

This month, Jennifer of Unfold and Begin, looks at reigniting your passion for things that you love doing. While you may or may not already have a job that you’re passionate about, in learning how to wake-up in November, she looks at all the things you enjoy doing.

Rebecca Olkowski with BabyBoomster.com has tips and up-to-date information for Baby Boomers who may be thinking about starting a blog to promote their business or project. As a blogger and WordPress junkie since 2008, she has an idea of what’s she’s talking about.

In this busy, crazy world, Carol Cassara over at A Healing Spirit reminds us of a few simple things we can do when we feel overwhelmed.

On The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide, Rita R. Robison, consumer and personal finance journalist, writes about a study that found eating organically grown food for one week can significantly reduce the levels of pesticide in the body. Researchers found the levels of toxins decreased by an average of 60.5 percent after six days of eating organic food. Sales of organic food continue to grow as it becomes more widely available to consumers.

Maybe it’s an echo from Halloween. Maybe it’s because November is a cold and misty month of clouds and overcast skies. But Tom at Sightings Over Sixty just can’t shake the image of an old friend — and so he relates his strange experience in A Night to Remember.

That’s it for now! See you next time…
